Cod5 crashes instantly/wont start?

i just godt cod5 and im sure i have the minimum requirments after checking sys req labs but as soon as i try to start it the game says that it hadnt shut down properly before and should start in safe mode, ive tryed in both safe and regualr but the screen just flashes black and the game dosnt start. i guess its my gpu but i have what it needs so it should start and im running xp. so help would be appreciated and dont tell me to go buy some 4k game machine as a solution
