Is it a good idea to have a demented maverick's finger on the nuclear trigger?

After reading more about his background and what he went through in Vietnam, I have a lot of respect for that guy....he is a warrior. However, I don't think he would be the best president and I won't be voting for him, plus I think he's too old. Is he the best candidate America has to offer? I don't think so.
