What do you think of my list of the 10 greatest presidents?
If recession is one eliminating factor for being a great president I am surprised you managed to find anyone who fit the bill. Reagan, while a good leader, lacked the essential diplomacy of being a president, at least in some areas. Jefferson would no doubt have been on my list because of his expansion of our nation while simultaneously reducing the likelihood of a war between France and Britain on our shores over the question of which parts of unclaimed territories were up for grabs. FDR, too, would have been on my list for his efforts at stemming the Great Depression, not to mention his guidance during WWII when infirmity struck him. Eisenhower was a better general than president, Coolidge is a potentially good choice, though I'd have to look closer at his presidency before making a decision on his inclusion. Other than the eliminations and addtions mentioned, not bad.
