Could this work to curb off field problems in AFL ?

The new young guns in their first year or two in AFL, on a tidy pay packet, have too much spare cash which many are converting into excesses which the average Joe can't afford. This gives rise to inflated egos and misdemeanors, Apprentice jockeys receive a small set wage, and have to learn to live on it until they are out of their time. Their % of prizemoney for booting home winners is held in trust until the apprenticeship is over. Do you think a similiar system in AFL viz. Set wage to live on & balance of pay or contract in trust, for the first 3 years on a teamlist would curb the off-field problems as well as teach the value of money to these guys ?
